Violent Acres Is A Man

I offer Violent Acres’ latest post as evidence that “she” is actually a man. The style of writing, the topical choices, the voice - all point very convincingly in that direction. There’s not a woman alive - and almost no men - who could talk to a restaurant hostess and not notice she was 100 lbs overweight. And only a man would make up something like that and expect it to be believed.

In the midst of all the recent blog-buzz created by Violent Acres, I first suggested it a few days ago over at Ben’s blog. But now, I’m more certain than ever.

First, I’d like to say that I agree with Violent Acres much of the time, and think that he/she has said some things that need to be said. A side-splitting and harshly accurate example might be the recent piece, Shape of a Divorce.

The writing is decent and many of the points (especially the financial ones) are well thought out, but with all the talk about deadbeat dad myths, kicking ass at work and with money, jokes about retarded children, and making it to the top of Digg and Technorati - I’m sorry, but that’s how men talk.

    Seriously... what does it matter? Why is symbolism in this country matter so much more than the substance?

    Agree or disagree with her point(s), but to dissect each word of each story trying to figure out if she is male or female? Counting the dates to see if she if she has them all correct? If I was doing something like she is doing, I would play around with times/dates/genders/etc. as well ... protecting myself, protecting the privacy of the people around me, just because I am fugging board... so what?

    I am taking the time to write this for one reason and one reason only... I am bored our of my skull and have nothing else to do to amuse myself... with no option right now to change that... but even I am not bored enough to spend hours reading someones blog in such grand detail, looking for typos and potential time dilation's and/or shrinkage... for no other reason than to be able to rub my hands together in glee at what I might or might not have figured out.

    If she is a male, transvestite, illegal alien prison inmate who has lived in a protective germ bubble all its life and everything said is a made up fantasy life... I find that MUCH more interesting than people with apparently not much more of a life ... and none of the imagination.

    IT IS AN ANNONOMOUS PERSON ON THE ANNONEMOUS INTERNET WITH NO POSSIBLE WAY OF CAUSING ANYONE ANY HARM...

    Another possibility is that her name is something like Violet Akers. Violent because she alludes to the prone-to-violence bit a lot, and Acres is a misspelling of a common name like Akers.

    Just a thought.

    I've been reading her blog for a month now but today's story made me go to google.

    It just doesn't feel congruent to what she has wrote previously. The part that I paused at is when she reapproached him at a club months later. Huh? I thought she was an alpha bitch -- why would she go up to a guy who served her massive disrespect?

    The blog is entertaining but her rise to popularity seemed fast and unnatural. I have a feeling this is the project of someone who had successful web sites in the past.

    Women can easily simulate men's behavior. Men are not that complicated. Many women think like Violent Acres you just won't find them in a club with their breast hanging out (thats probably the only women you idiots notice).

    I have met a ridiculous amount of women who hate other women. Many women are dumb and "tomboys" hate those bitches.
    Second many people are "fatphobic." Just like homophobia, people who hate fattys are the MOST AFRAID of getting fat. It is this fear that KEEPS THEM THIN.

    Is it really so far-fetched for any woman to (gasp) drop the f-bomb like it's the cure for cancer, and use all kinds of disgusting and inappropriate phrases to get a point across? For some of you, it probably is, and I'd pity you if it were worth my time.

    I think you misinterpreted what V.A. said. It's not that she didn't notice that the woman was overweight, she just didn't realize who it was. She initially assumed that the woman had always been large and had trouble remembering her... it was only after she made her social blunder that she realized that the woman in question had once been much thinner.

    VA is basically the 30 year-old version of myself - and I am very much a female.

    In this day and age, especially over the internet, it's next to impossible to define someone's age or gender on the basis of what they type.

    You can have a 40 year-old man typing a blog spelling words wrong left and right, using "u" and "r" along with the wrong kind of "there".

    Or you can have a 17 year-old female who types like a 30 year-old and spends all of her time playing World of Warcraft and hosting a Counter Strike server.

    Summary: Don't generalize.

    Anthony, 99% of women drive like assholes, which seems to be the case here. I havent ever heard/seen/can imagine a man, unless hes over 80 and without his glasses, drive in such a manner as to have a tailgater, especially that many times. I have no idea who this person is, but seems like a woman to me.

    Now, what caught my eye was the mention of her being 19 years old when the incident happened. She said she picked up her cell phone in the car and called her friend.

    Assuming she is actually early 30's, ie. 31 to 33, then that would be roughly 12 years ago, circa 1994. From my weak recollection, in 1994 cell phones were still pretty large, expensive things and not the province of mere end users, but business guys, drug dealers, and spoiled rich kids. Unless she is one of those three, I find it highly unlikely that she had a cell. So, this could mean that the event happened more recently, or she/he/it is making this stuff up."

    Having said that, then if people think Standing Cheese = Violent Acres then so be it.

    BTW, I have no idea who the "Clueless in Carolina" writer is. Stop pretending you know who my friends are.

    A lot of people have speculated that it's Standing Cheese. It's his style of writing exactly. Some of the posts are written by a female but the most offensive are written by Cheese. Compare the "source code" of his site http://cheese.standingcheese.com and the Violent Acres site. It's almost identical. It's Standing Cheese and a friend. He only has two female friends that I'm aware of - Aitch (Andrea H.??) and the "Clueless in Carolina" writer. I don't think it's Andrea.

    I don't agree. Not all women think like "most" women. BBC did an online study a while back to see how "male" or "female" people's brains were. I came out 49% male and 51% female-and I ain't no dyke. I get the feeling she is a woman especially from the Thanksgiving post where she talks about taking a walk with her niece. But who cares anyway? Her writing is good.

    I woman would totally have said, "She had gained about 100lbs," even if she gained 5. It is a woman way of speaking. Womanspeak: Actual weight gain, doubled, adding an extra zero: 5lbsx2=10+1 Zero=100. See the logic there, mate?
