Some folks at the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office have a very different view of the law than I do, and this “accidental interview” should demonstrate those differences rather clearly. We’ve all heard the myths about Texas lawmen and their, errr.. improvisational legislative interpretations. I’m sure one Lieutenant Phillip Dreyer doesn’t take much shame in this myth – in fact, he seems to be doing his best to live up to that stereotype. But I’m getting ahead of myself, kids … first, despite several weeks passing since the incident, my notes were taken that evening. So, I believe the below to be a very accurate and fair encapsulation.
On the night of Feburary 5, 2007, while walking around San Antonio to get some night shots, I noted the rather cool way one of the canals was being lit on East Nueva Street, so decided to take some pictures of it.

Settling in slowly but surely in the new place; I love it. I’m also playing a little photography catch-up; here are a few sets from the past few weeks: a more-complete Grand Canyon set, the Mexico set, and Tucscon.

Finally decided on the place. Took some crappy snapshots yesterday. The movers come tomorrow, so… I will soon sleep in my own bed for the first time in six months. That’ll be really nice.

Well, the apartment hunt has been interesting. First of all, I determined before I got here that I wasn’t buying a place initially. I’d like to get my sea legs here first, be sure I want to be here (and where) before I make that kind of commitment. Besides, I think the market has some correcting to do. So, it’s been an apartment hunt.

The recent news about Cheney’s latest medical scare makes my theory about McCain’s sudden over-the-top support of Bush in 2004 particularly relevant. For years, I’ve wondered what they possibly could have promised McCain to shut him up and bring him back under “control” in 2004.
