I worked at the HC Honda in Westborough as well in the last year and can honestly say some of the sales people there are such nice people, and really not looking to screw anyone over, but unfortunately the departments don't always communicate well.

With that said, it is probably one of the worst places to have your car worked on, EVER. I would never suggest anyone to have their car serviced there. The Service Advisors are over-worked, and the communication between them and the mechanics is minimal at best. They only make their monthly bonuses if they have a certain level of customer satifisfaction on their customer surveys, and are normally scored poorly based on the jobs of the mechanics, which is completely out of their control. Also, the services done are not always up to par. We had multiple issues of mechanical problems after the car was driven off (like forgetting to put oil back in the car after an oil change!)

The management skills of the staff is pretty terrible as well. They went through multiple secretaries/cashiers in the few short months I was there, and had one quit and one fired just during my interview process, and the one that quit, did so because another employee was so rude and terrible to her she no longer wanted to work there. They had to actually move a supervisor out of the position because she had such poor skills dealing with other people. In the few months that I was there, I took on overtime (even though I was part-time) because they were always under-staffed or people called in, I also did more than my share of the work load and got months of undone filing in order, and continuously offered to take on more work. The funny part was that the woman who they took out of my supervisor's position because she couldn't work well with others had me fired, because she didn't think I did my share of the work. Although I had been told multiple times to listen to my supervisor and not her.

To regress a bit though, a lot of the people there are great. The parts manager, the service coordinator, most of the people who call when you put in an internet quiry (BDC), the lead mechanic, are all great people. Unfortunately, it's usually a culmination of a few people who make for a terrible experience and not just the one you're dealing with.

I just left the company and can say that 100% of the issues addressed on here are true coming from any current or former employees. Some of the statements made by upset customers are a bit falsified and that's understandable seeing how anyone who had a poor experience would want to make sure no one else does. I just have to say that I was at the westborough Honda location and was treated so poorly that I was forced to contact corporate. Upon doing so I was pulled aside by the manager, Gregg vitello, mentioned above and was told if I ever do that again I'm gone. I can go on and on. There are some great people in the company and some not so great people. Herb is a great guy, I emailed him that I was leaving and he responded yet my own manager on the other hand couldn't. It's all who is there at what point in time. Herb doesn't conduct the interview, the slummy sales manager does. I'm done. I am now two weeks into a new job at The competitors Toyota store and am told that I am loved by management. Well at least they toughened me up.

I'm sure very well known as to who I am now so here you are everyone

As a current employee, I can honestly say while I can empathize with most of you... I don't necessarily agree with everything that has been said. with the way business is conducted in this revolving door industry, you have to realize that while you may not have had a positive experience with that particular salesperson/manager, things change quite frequently. Not only that, you are not forced to accept any deals presented to you nor poor customer service. Do not expect to be treated with respect if all you do is treat the staff with nothing but contempt and distrust. Some, not all (I won't stereotype everyone like most of you are willing to do), do take pride in providing an excellent experience. Don't misunderstand, you will not always get the best deal... but we have to earn a living somehow and while I wish the whole process was much simpler, that isn't going to happen.

What we can agree on is that nepotism and archaic attitudes from above does tend to trickle down.

Former employee of hc infiniti and honda store in Boston. Being treated like shit. Worst of place you can work in. The service employees are forced to work Sunday. I feel bad for the techs, they don't get overtime. The managers are so fucking greedy, cutting the tech labor times so their bonus will be fatter. They clearly do not have any managerial experience. They get through life by sucking dicks. It's not who you know it's who you blow.
Whoever wrote this is best place to work in, you're lying!! Its probably written by the managers itself Come down check the place out. It's a dump!!

I too am VERY UPSET with the Herb Chambers Dealership in Danvers, MA. Staff appears to be pulling the wool over one's eyes. OK, sales we know is quite capable of it and as we all know sales people lie, but the Service Department as well? Yes. It is so.

I purchased a pre owned "certified" car there, just recently. I was told that EVERYTHING in the car had been checked out and that it had "nothing wrong" with it. I have driven it for less than 4,000 miles and it already has problems with leaks in the transmission, power steering and other wheel problems. I paid a price that I felt was appropriate for a "certified" car. I have come to the conclusion that pretty much all dealerships, including Herb Chambers of Danvers are in violation of the spirit of the "certified" car label and that the public, the consumer is being misled as to the truth.

Don't waste your time! If you are looking for a new Hyuandai, please ignore HC Hyundai of Auburn. These people are very dishonest. I called ahead to check availability of a certain car and I was told it was available. But when I reached the dealership an hour later, the sales guy told me that all the cars were sold and I could not test drive one. I was ready to walk out when he "suddenly remembered" that there was a one car available on the lot (later I found several were available!). The price he quoted for the car was almost 20% above the MSRP. At every step they made me wait for a long time and I took me almost 3 hours to be able to test drive and get a quote!

I bought a Honda Fit from the dealership in Seekonk, MA. I'd go into the problems I have had since I signed the purchase & sale agreement but I don't think everybody would be interested in a bad Three Stooges movie.

I worked at one of Herbs dealerships in Auburn for a while an I could not believe how badly the peolple that work there were treated. The general manager has a meeting with the sales guys every day and yell and swear at them about how bad they are at their jobs. They were always being told they would be fired for all different reasons. I feel bad for most of them becauyse they are mostly nice people that want to treat customers well and do agood job. I could not work there for more than a few months but some peole have been there for sevreal years. I don't know they can do that. They say its always been like that and Herb does not care a slong as the place makes money. So I don't think it will chang anytime soon and the customers are the real people that have to deal with the problems too. I work at another dealership now and we have our problems like anyplace but it is nothing like it was at Herbs place.
