13 04 2008Here’s a fun little list of brain oddities. I remember as a kid my brother and I used to fuck with our heads by saying the same thing over and over again, say for a minute or so, until the phrase seemed so ridiculous that it no longer felt real – it would take on an alien, unrecognizable sense. Try it yourself – pick a word, or a phrase, anything that makes sense to you at the moment. Repeat it to yourself at a comfortable pace over a period of a minute or so. It will shortly seem absurd.
Nice!!!! So we were actually experiencing brain fatigue? Seems unlikely that a word would tire the brain so quickly. Does it just make it obsolete after 30 times in 60 seconds? Kinda like the brain saying:
ok dbag you can cut the crap now. This ain’t funny so I am going to pretend that this is not a word so you will be quiet and let me deal with the important stuff…
LOL, sounds like the brain needs a faster CPU (or increased L2) in this situation but highly unlikely.
