I think higher-profile mistakes like this one tend to make people pay more attention to the chaos in Iraq.

While it is tragic that anyone is killed in war it is even worse when they are killed as reporters. That does not, however lessen the sacrifice of soldiers who are doing the job ordered by their government. And it certainly does not justify insulting a faithful ally as the U.S. The U.S. puts their money where their mouth is.
Mazen was killed doing his job and the soldier who mistook him for the enemy was doing his. It is easy to mistake a camera, at a distance, with the huge oversize lens, for being an RPG launcher. Even I was surprised, when I saw the ‘event’ demonstrated on t.v., and how much the camera looked like a weapon. So much for a ‘WASHINGTON INVESTIGATION”. The eyes plays tricks at a distance and the most inexperienced of cameramen would know that. Only a fool would need a ‘WASHINTON INVESTIGATION’ to see that.
The soldier was doing what soldiers do, protecting himself and his fellow soldiers. I haven’t heard the Jewish press castigate the Arabs for shooting non-Jewish reporters. Not a peep!!
For the Israelis to place the American flag at the doorstep to be dishonored makes them no better than Palestinian terrorists who do the same with the American flag.
America does not deserve this insult and makes me want to reconsider any further aid to Israel by the American government. One thing using the flag as a ‘doormat’- it certainly does signify that perhaps the Americans have been Israel’s doormat for too long.
Why is it that you do not see Americans insulting other countries flags? I think it shows that Jew and Arab are the same – they’re all as crazy as each other. There will never be peace there, not until they blow each other up. Personally, I find that preferable to the continued insult hurled by them toward the U.S.
Finally, I see RED, WHITE and BLUE when my country is so purposefully insulted. The people who do it can eat the most vile of organic matter.
Any American reporter or cameraman who is involved in this protest, not only are they not looking at the big picture, they are ppawns being used by anti-American protesters who look for any excuse to burn the American flag. It is my opinion that involved in this protest, are just your run of the mill anti-American assholes.
As Lenin called them, “the usual gaggle of idiots”.

When you knowingly walk in front of a loaded weapon you accept the chance that you will not walk away. There is only one person responsible for the death of Mazen Dana and that is he. C’est la guerre.

It might be that Mazen was killed because he was filming ‘dead’ US warriors!!!
