Today, the President drew a confused analogy between the Vietnam War and our debacle in Iraq. You might recall that such comparisons were basically treasonous a couple of years ago: Read the rest of this entry »

Powerful Op Ed in today’s NYT, straight from the 82nd Airborne.
“Viewed from Iraq at the tail end of a 15-month deployment, the political debate in Washington is indeed surreal..”

Marty: “What about all that talk about screwing up future events… the space-time continuum?”

Peggy Noonan is finally leaving the GWB ship. After campaigning so hard for his re-election that she had to take a break from her work at the Journal, she has apparently finally come to her senses. Over the recent past, she’s been more critical of Bush and his clan (speaking out against “Bush Derangement Syndrome,” for example) but until now has never been so direct with her frustration. You should read the whole thing, but some quotes I enjoyed are below… Read the rest of this entry »

Today, Tenet, in his media tour of shirking responsibility and creating his own history, told Chris Matthews that one of the things we really need to do is hunt down and account for all the fissile material. In the same breath, he speaks of “generational challenge.”

At a speech today in Alliance, Ohio, Karl Rove told the audience that a loss in Iraq meant that “they will follow.” Then, he was asked:
“Whose idea was it to start a pre-emptive war in Iraq?”
and responded: “I think it was Osama bin Laden.”
The worst part? The line drew a round of applause.
