UFOs and Prada in West Texas

Hey folks – a quick dispatch from Tucson, AZ. My photos from the journey through West Texas are up. The road up from Terlingua (170 and 67) toward El Paso easily qualifies as the best driving ever packed into one day.

Whether you like your straight stretches flat or dippy, whether blind curves or cliffside S-turns give you a thrill, this trip has it all.

Oh, and I saw a weird thing flying up above the prairies somewhere around Valentine, Texas – couldn’t figure it really – do tell, if you know what it is. Looks like some kind of test craft.

But even that wasn’t as weird as this, seen soon thereafter.  Speeding along through vast tracts of prairie and farmland, I suddenly spotted it out of the corner of my eye. I knew my eyes had to be playing games with me – and crammed on the brakes to go back for another look. But, my eyes were not fooling me – there it was.
